IEEE Young Professionals, Sri Lanka is dedicated to its members in shaping their careers not only in technical aspects but also in terms of Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Sustainability. LETs Talk is all about it where LETS stands for Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Technology and Sustainability. IEEE YP Sri Lanka was able to apprise the youth in these aspects throughout the year 2018 and EEE YP Sri Lanka is continuing their effort as another LETS talk series for 2019.
The first event of the LETs Talk series “NB IoT- Bridging the Gap in NB IoT industry Sri Lanka ” was held on March 19th, 6pm onwards at Mobile (pvt) Ltd, Trace city, Colombo 10. Session was conducted by Mr. Shamil Appathurai, the senior manager of Mobitel, Network strategy and transformation. Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) , a low power Wide Area Network radio technology standard is becoming a leading technology word. Dr. Shamil addressed the gathering on NB-IoT, it’s applications and advantages. Continuing the session he also shared about the effort that Mobitel has put into implementing NB-IoT in Sri Lanka. The event wrapped up with an informative Q and A session.
