IEEE Sri Lanka Section Awards 2024

The IEEE Sri Lanka Section proudly presents its annual awards ceremony, dedicated to recognizing the outstanding contributions and initiatives that best serve the IEEE community. This prestigious event honours the dedication and hard work of IEEE volunteers across all levels, with the presence of esteemed leaders from academia, industry, and student bodies. By acknowledging excellence in a variety of award categories, the ceremony celebrates the remarkable efforts of volunteers who have made a lasting impact on the IEEE mission.

In line with our commitment to recognizing exemplary service, the IEEE Sri Lanka Section invites nominations for fourteen (14) awards. These awards are categorised under Organisational Unit Awards and Special Activities Awards, aimed at celebrating the innovation, leadership, and community engagement of our members.  Phase 2 of the awards nominations, covering an additional thirteen (13) categories, will be conducted prior to the IEEE Sri Lanka Section AGM in January 2025.

  4. Best Industry Collaborative Project Award (SB OU Category)
  5. Special Recognition for the Best Humanitarian Project

Nomination Process

Nomination for the awards shall be submitted by filling out an online application. The nominee will have to fill out the nomination form and complete each section in a concise manner.

Judging Committee

The Judging Committee will include members from the IEEE Sri Lanka Section Executive Committee and prestigious IEEE Sri Lanka Section Volunteers.

The decision of the judging committee shall be final and cannot be challenged.

Award Instrument

A certificate & a token of appreciation.

Presentation

The awards will be presented at the IEEE SL SYW Congress 2024 on September 15th.

Record

The Awards Committee will maintain a record of award recipients on the IEEE Sri Lanka Section website (www.ieee.lk).

Publicity Rights

Information provided by the nominators for the IEEE Sri Lanka Section awards may be used for promotional and/or publicity purposes on IEEE websites, Facebook, Twitter & other social media handles, printed materials and press releases etc. By submitting a nomination, nominators and nominees agree to the release of submitted information

Evaluation Criteria

Each nomination will be evaluated with a predefined criterion and shall be given a score out of a hundred (100).
