IEEE Sri Lanka Section Awards Night 2023
The IEEE Sri Lanka Section Awards Night 2023 was held during the IEEE Sri Lanka Section Student | Young Professionals | Women In Engineering Congress 2023 on the 04th of November. The Awards Night was held in a full extravaganza for the eighth consecutive year to recognize the continuous efforts of the Section’s IEEE volunteers as they strive to maintain the quality of the initiatives done by the Organizational Units.
Twenty-three prestigious awards were given away at Awards Night 2023 under 04 categories as Special Activities Awards, OU awards, Individual Volunteer Awards, and External Recognitions.

IEEE Sri Lanka Section Awards Night 2022
The IEEE Sri Lanka Section Awards Night 2022 was held in two sectors. Twenty-Five prestigious awards were given away at Awards Night 2022 under 04 categories as Special Activities Awards, OU awards, Individual Volunteer Awards, and External Recognitions. The initial sector was held on 17th September 2022 at the IEEE SL SYW Congress in Collaboration with IEEE CS SYP Global Congress 2022 awarding six(06) awards under the Individual Volunteer Awards Category. The final sector was held on 07th February 2023 at the IEEE Annual General Meeting 2023 awarding nineteen(19) awards under the Special Activities Awards, Organizational Unit Awards, and External Recognitions categories. The Awards Night was held in a full extravaganza for the seventh consecutive year to recognize the continuous efforts of the Section’s IEEE volunteers as they strive to maintain the quality of the initiatives done by the Organizational Units.

The IEEE Sri Lanka Section Awards Night 2018 was held during the IEEE Sri Lanka Section Student/Young Professionals/Women In Engineering Congress 2018 on 29th December 2018 at Sri Lanka Technological Campus (SLTC). The Awards Night was held in full extravaganza for the third consecutive year to recognize the continuous efforts of the Section’s IEEE volunteers as they strive to maintain the quality of the initiatives done by the Organizational Units.
The night brought together the whole Section for an evening celebrating success and accomplishments. Mr. Chevaan Daniel, the Group Director of The Capital Maharaja Organization Ltd was the distinguished chief guest for the night!

IEEE Sri Lanka Section Awards Night 2017
The IEEE Sri Lanka Section Awards Night 2017 was held during the IEEE Sri Lanka Section Student/Young Professionals/Women In Engineering Congress 2017 on 22nd December 2017 at Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. It was held for the second consecutive year with the objective of giving recognition to the most outstanding initiatives by Student Branches and Affinity Groups as a motivation and inspiration to ensure the quality of these initiatives.
Five awards were given away this night introducing the Membership Retention Award for the highest membership retention at Student Branch level and the Best Industry Collaborative Project Award for the project that has the most interaction with the industry through their partnerships and speaker lineup, along with the Best Student Branch Activity Award, Best Young Professional Activity Award and Best Women in Engineering Activity Award continuing from the previous year.
Professor Saman Halgamuge delivered a keynote for the night on “Data Engineering and Deep Learning to Mine the Mysteries of the Brain” adding to the excitement of the night. Awards were given out for the following projects and OUs:
