Creative Sri Lanka: Sparking Innovation for Economic Independence
On February 25th, 2025, TRACE Expert City transformed into a hub of creativity with Creative Sri Lanka, an initiative driving innovation for economic independence. Organized by TRACE in partnership with IEEE YPSL and LETs Talk, and powered by HNB, this event brought together individuals, startups, and organizations to celebrate creativity and entrepreneurship.
Creative Sri Lanka featured an open-mic-style evening blending activities, games, discussions, and live performances unlike traditional corporate events. Attendees from
local startups, tech firms, and innovation communities engaged in a dynamic space encouraging collaboration and idea exchange. The event emphasized four key pillars: Creativity, Innovation, Inclusion, and Entrepreneurship. Industry leaders delivered inspiring talks, including Peter D’Almeida (Founder of N*able), Randhula de Silva (Founder of Good Life X), and Chandima Cooray (Chief Innovation Officer at HNB).
Highlights included:
- Music Competition: A thrilling contest featuring singing, beatboxing, and performances, with a LKR 20,000 grand prize.
- Interactive Games & Art Activities: Promoting teamwork, creativity, and innovation.
- Networking Over Food & Drinks: A casual setting for forming valuable connections.
The event was supported by Generation ALPHA, The MAKERS, Good Life X, Pick A Book Sri Lanka, and BARISTA, all dedicated to fostering innovation in Sri Lanka. Creative Sri Lanka was more than an event—it was a movement, merging art, technology, and entrepreneurship to fuel economic progress.
