IEEE Awareness Program University of Vocational Technology

The IEEE student branch of University of Vocational Technology held a complete awareness session gathering all the students of our university on 09th of January 2019 from 2.00 pm to 4.30 pm at the university premises. Mr. Chanaka Hettige the chair at IEEE innovation Nation Sri Lanka, Mr. Peshan Sampath the Student Activities Committee Chairman IEEE Sri Lanka Section and Miss Nuwani Dulanga the Section student Representative IEEE Sri Lanka Section were invited as the speakers for this session. 

First, Mr. Peshan Sampath gave a clear understanding about what is IEEE, what are the requirements we should have in with us in order to become a member, what are the responsibilities of a member, the pathways a member can go and the social experiences he had during his career as an active member of the IEEE society. Then, miss Nuwani Dulanga started speaking about the benefits one could gain while being as a member of IEEE and the market value which can be gained by moving on with IEEE. Also, she spoke about the value this society can add to our lives when we started ourselves in careers.

Moreover, Mr. Chanaka Hettige confronted about his life experiences being an active member of the IEEE community. Also, he spoke about the different pathways where we can choose by understanding our own skills. 

This awareness session was a great success for the newly appointed student branch of University of Vocational Technology, and it encouraged all the students to get themselves more into IEEE Community and as well as in Technological domain.
