PCB design workshop which was organized by IEEE Student Branch, University of Ruhuna was held on Monday 3rd of June 2019 at Electrical and Information Computer Centre, Faculty of Engineering, University of Ruhuna, with the participation of over 80 students. This was the first workshop in PCB design workshop series and it was conducted over 2 hours.
The workshop was to provide the fundamental knowledge about to PCB designing as Printed Circuit Boards are essential part of electronics. The students were guided to use Proteus PCB design software as the first step of the workshop series. Many areas in computerized PCB designing with Proteus software were covered though the session. i.e., creation of symbolic representation of circuits (schematic diagram), searching and placing of electronic components, wiring connections and creation of PCB layout. We hope to give the practical guidance for PCB designing in the next session of the workshop series.
