On 7th August 2025 at 6.00 PM, the Hustle Story Limited Edition: 03 was organised by the IEEE Innovation Nation Sri Lanka (IEEE INSL), in collaboration with the IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka (IEEE YP Sri Lanka), at TRACE Expert City, Colombo. This intimate event, limited to just seven seats, was tailored for INSL community members, young professionals, and startup enthusiasts, fostering meaningful conversations on entrepreneurship.

The session featured Mr. Adhisha Gammanpila, an innovative entrepreneur and founder of Feynman, as the keynote speaker. Through the conversation, he shared his entrepreneurial journey, spotlighting the realities of building Feynman, overcoming setbacks, and the strategies needed for aspiring entrepreneurs in Sri Lanka’s startup ecosystem.

Through this interactive session, participants gained valuable insights into building strong professional relationships, overcoming challenges in the startup journey, and exploring practical approaches to business development. The evening concluded with a lively Q&A, where attendees engaged in discussions about their own startup ideas and networking challenges. The event focused on quality over quantity, giving participants a rare opportunity to connect closely with an experienced entrepreneur and leave with fresh perspectives and inspiration.

The IEEE Young Protégé 2025 Final Summit was held on 29th August, 2025, at CINEC Campus with the participation of 108 undergraduates, fresh graduates, mentors, and professionals. The event marked the conclusion of a month-long mentoring journey, celebrating achievements while paving the way for future collaborations.

The summit began with an inauguration and welcome address, followed by a keynote by Prof. S. Vasanthapriyan, Chairperson of IEEE Sri Lanka Section and Dean of the Faculty of Computing at Sabaragamuwa University. Speaking on the theme “Open Industry Opportunities with IEEE”, he emphasized the value of IEEE Young Professionals, mentorship, and active participation in shaping career growth and industry readiness.

Highlights of the event included a recap video of the journey, an open forum that provided space for mentors and mentees to share feedback, and an award ceremony recognizing outstanding mentees, mentors, partners, and volunteers for their contributions.

Organized by StudPro 8.0, IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka, IEEE Students, and IEEE ELEVATE, with support from leading knowledge partners, the Final Summit reinforced the importance of mentorship, community, and lifelong IEEE engagement. It closed with a message that this milestone is not an ending but the start of new opportunities for growth and collaboration.

The Hustle Story Limited Edition: 02 was a unique opportunity for young innovators to learn directly from a leading Sri Lankan entrepreneur. Held on 25 July at 6.00 PM at TRACE Expert City, Colombo. The event was organised by the IEEE Innovation Nation Sri Lanka (IEEE INSL) in collaboration with the IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka (IEEE YP Sri Lanka). It created an inspiring space for valuable conversations about entrepreneurship, resilience, and innovation.

The keynote speaker, Ms. Dilini Ekanayaka, Co-founder of Asyncdot, shared her journey of building the company that has become a recognized force in Sri Lanka’s startup ecosystem. She spoke about the vision of Asyncdot’s success, the importance of aligning passion with purpose, and how to overcome setbacks along the way.

A key highlight of the session was the discussion on the Sri Lankan Startup Landscape, where Ms. Dilini Ekanayaka shared candid reflections on the opportunities and risks young innovators should keep in mind. Drawing from her own experiences, she made the conversation highly relatable and practical. The evening wrapped up with an interactive Q&A, where participants openly shared their startup ideas and networking challenges, making the discussion even more engaging and insightful.

On 7th July 2025 at 6.00 PM, the Hustle Story Limited Edition: 01 was organized by the IEEE Innovation Nation Sri Lanka (IEEE INSL), in collaboration with the IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka (IEEE YP Sri Lanka), with the aim of inspiring participants by showcasing successful career transitions from traditional professions to entrepreneurship at TRACE Expert City, Colombo. The session welcomed aspiring entrepreneurs, students, professionals, and innovators eager to learn from real life journeys of change and innovation.

The keynote speaker, Dr. Dhanushi Hettiarachchi, is a medical doctor and CEO of Ophtha. Her story highlighted how expertise in healthcare can be transformed into impactful innovations in technology and business. She redefined her professional path, demonstrating the powerful intersection between medicine, mental health, and entrepreneurship.

The session created a space for the participants to recognize the importance of purpose and mental well being in business. It highlighted how personal experiences can be turned into entrepreneurial strengths.

Building Futures Together – IEEE Young Protégé 2025 Kick-Off Event | By IEEE Students, IEEE YP Sri Lanka, IEEE Elevate and StudPro

The IEEE Young Protégé 2025 Kick-Off Event took place on 1st July 2025, at the IIT School of Computing, marking the beginning of a new mentoring journey. The event brought together 82 undergraduates, fresh graduates, mentors, and professionals to introduce the vision, structure, and milestones of the Young Protégé 2025 programme. A strong emphasis was placed on mentor–mentee bonding, role clarity, and the value of collaboration, accountability, and growth through structured mentorship.

Distinguished speakers enriched the programme with special addresses. Mr. Heshan Mallawarachchi, Chair of IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka, outlined the programme’s roadmap. Ms. Vismini Amarasinha, Collaboration Chair of IEEE YP Sri Lanka, highlighted the significance of mentor–mentee relationships, while Ms. Amirah Rasmin, Project Coordinator of IEEE ELEVATE, explained how the ELEVATE initiative supports Protégé through structured guidance and evaluations. The presence of HR executives and industry representatives provided valuable career exposure and practical insights, adding depth to the experience.

Overall, the event set a positive and inspiring tone for Young Protégé 2025, equipping mentees with confidence, motivation, and a supportive professional community to guide their journey.
