A Distinguished Lecture on Deep Learning was organized by IEEE Sri Lanka Section and IEEE Student Branch of University of Kelaniya on 9th of May from 12pm onwards. It was held at Hall P2 011, Faculty of Computing and Technology, University of Kelaniya located in Peliyagoda. The Lecturer for the day was Prof. Saman Halgamuge, FIEEE and Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Infrastructure Engineering at the University of Melbourne.
Professor Saman was warmly welcome and introduced to the audience by Dr. Sidath Liyanage, Senior Treasurer of the Student Branch. The event was attended by nearly hundred people which included undergraduates, tech enthusiasts and lecturers from around the country. Areas such as Supervised Learning, Unsupervised Learning and Neural Learning were discussed by the Professor. The lecture was interesting to all the participants and it was appreciated by all those who attended. A token of appreciation was presented to Prof. Halgamuge by Mr. Shamitha Chandrasena, the Student Branch Chair at the end of the session.
