The Annual General Meeting of the Student Branch of Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology for the year 2019 was held on 3rd of April at the Mini Auditorium of SLIIT. The event proceedings were started at 12.30pm with the arrival of the distinguished guests including Prof. Chandimal Jayawardena, Chairman of IEEE Sri Lanka Section, Dr. Windhya Rankothge, Chairperson of WIE Affinity Group of IEEE Sri Lanka Section and Dr. Pradeep Abeygunawardhana, Branch Counselor of IEEE Student Branch of SLIIT. The outgoing chairman Malinda Gunathilake displayed the events from their term and noteworthy efforts of past volunteers were also rewarded at the AGM. The officials for the incoming executive committees of the main branch, Power and Energy Society, and Women-In-Engineering affinity group were appointed afterwards and was witnessed by 60-odd student participants from both IT and Engineering Faculties. Chamindu Lalingana, Lihini Rajapaksha, Thilina Ranatunga were appointed as the chairman, secretary, and the treasurer of IEEE Student Branch of SLIIT respectively. Incoming chairman unveiled his vision on the branch for the upcoming term and the outgoing chairman conveyed his gratitude for all the support the academic staff and the members gave during their tenure.
