The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the IEEE Sri Lanka Section for year 2019 was held on 16th January 2019 at Hilton Colombo Residencies. The event had a diverse attendance with over 100 people representing Members of the Sri Lanka Section and representatives from Student Branches.
The welcome speech was made by the chairman. The minutes of the AGM and the Financial Report of the section for year 2018 were read and approved to be true and correct. Then the previous executive committee was dissolved, and the new executive committee were elected for the upcoming year.
During the AGM, the winners of the IEEE competitions and the Sri Lanka section competitions were also awarded. The AGM concluded with a discussion on the future of the section on making a favorable impact on the Sri Lankan community as a part of a worldwide organization. The AGM was followed by the Annual Fellowship Dinner, where the participants got to get acquainted with each other devoid of formality
