The IEEE SPS Undergraduate Thesis Competition is an annual event organized by the IEEE Signal Processing Society Sri Lanka Section Chapter. Launched in 2023, the competition was held for the second time in 2024 at SLTC Research University, Padukka. The purpose of this competition is to provide an opportunity for undergraduate students and emerging researchers in Sri Lanka to showcase their signal processing skills. Participants present their undergraduate theses as posters in front of an expert panel, where their work is evaluated. This format allows students to receive valuable feedback from experts, enabling them to refine and improve their projects. This year's competition was held in collaboration with the Centre for Telecommunications Research (CTR) at SLTC Research University. In parallel with the thesis competition, a panel discussion on "Telco AI: Bringing AI into 5G and Beyond" was conducted, featuring expert panelists from SLTC Research University, the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, and the University of Moratuwa.
