IEEE Student Branch Officer Training 2018 organized by IEEE Sri Lanka Section Student Activity Committee (SAC) for the second consecutive time, held on Sunday, 25th of March 2018 from 8:30AM to 2:00PM at Informatics Institute of Technology(IIT), Colombo 06. Over 70 executive committee member from all the Student Branches (SB), SB Chapters and WIE AGs were participated in this training program.
The event was conducted by Mr. Upul Ekanayake – Member of IEEE Members and Geographic Activities (MGA) vTools Committee 2018, Mr. Pasan Pethiyagode – Regional Student Representative of IEEE Region 10, Mr. Peshan Sampath – IEEE Sri Lanka Section SAC Chair and Ms. Nuwini Dulanga – IEEE Sri Lanka Section Sectional Student Representative.
An overview about the responsibilities of student branch official as per Operations Manual of IEEE MGA was given at the beginning of the session. Furthermore, the procedure of SB Activity Reporting and Event Reporting via Vtools were highlighted so as to promote the effective usage of IEEE Tools to enhance awareness and recognition in volunteering activities by student branches. Finally, the Action Plans for 2018 submitted by each SB were reviewed and feedback was given to make necessary improvements. The event was winded up presenting token of appreciation to session conductors.
