The Inauguration Ceremony of Informatics Institute of Technology IEEE Student Branch was held on the 26th of May, 2015 on campus premises. The Chief Guest was Dr.Ruwan Ranaweera, the Chair of IEEE Sri Lankan Section. The event started at 5.15 PM after the arrival of honored guests and the Welcome Speech was given by the Branch Chair, Mr.Dileesha Rajapakse. Another speech was given by Prof. Alfred Perera, the Dean of IIT, followed by a speech by Dr.Sampath Kannangara, the CEO of Informatics. After introducing the executive committee of the branch, an inspirational and informative speech was delivered by Dr.Ruwan Ranaweera. The event was then concluded after a short musical performance by the college Choir.
