The IEEE International Conference on Advanced Research in Computing (ICARC 2026), organized by the Faculty of Computing, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, will be held on 18–19 February 2026 in hybrid mode. The theme, “Responsible AGI: Balancing Intelligence, Responsibility, and Sustainability” emphasizes ethical, inclusive, and sustainable approaches to Artificial General Intelligence.
ICARC 2026 fifth consecutive year will be technically co-sponsored by the IEEE Global, IEEE Sri Lanka Section, IEEE Computer Society of Sri Lanka Chapter, IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) Sri Lanka Chapter, IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS) Sri Lanka Chapter, IEEE Signal Processing Chapter, IEEE GRSS Chapter and IEEE Communications Society Sri Lanka Chapter.
ICARC 2026 will bring together researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers to discuss responsible development and deployment of AGI. The program will include keynote speeches, paper presentations, tutorials, and workshops from leading experts in AI, computing, and digital ethics.
The conference invites submissions in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Software Engineering, Smart Systems, and Human-Computer Interaction, with a focus on impactful and responsible research. It aims to foster collaboration between disciplines and promote research that aligns with societal needs and values.
