IEEE Sri Lanka Section - Annual General Meeting 2023
|
The AGM for 2023, along with the IEEE Sri Lanka Section Awards 2022, was held on February 7th, 2023, at the Hilton Colombo Residences.
Professor Pradeep Abeygunawardhana, the Chair of the IEEE Sri Lanka Section, welcomed the gathering to the Annual General Meeting of IEEE Sri Lanka Section 2023. Professor Buddhika Jayasekara was appointed as the IEEE Sri Lanka Section Chair for the year 2023. Mr. Dhammika Marasinghe was elected as Chair Elect, and Mr. Chamika Sudusinghe was elected as Secretary of the IEEE Sri Lanka Section for the year 2023.

IEEE Education Week Sri Lanka 2023 was organized as a two-day celebration, highlighting the educational opportunities, programs and resources provided by IEEE. IEEE Education Week Sri Lanka 2023 was developed in collaboration with IEEE SLInspire, IEEE Techverse Sri Lanka, IEEE SL Students Activities Committee, IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka, IEEE WIE Sri Lanka Section, IEEE SL Section SIGHT and IEEE Computer Society Sri Lanka Chapter. Considering that the 2nd to 8th of April 2023 was recognized as the IEEE Education Week globally for this year, the Sri Lankan counterpart of the global phenomenon was conducted on 3rd and 4th of April 2023 at TRACE Expert City, Sri Lanka.

Sinhala and Tamil New Year, marks the beginning of the new year according to the Sinhalese calendar. The festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm and includes various traditional rituals and customs. With the COVID-19 pandemic still lingering, celebrations may look a bit different, but the spirit of hope and renewal remains strong.
IEEE අවුරුදු 2023 was organized for the first time ever by SLSAC in collaboration with the IEEE Student Branch of OUSL and IEEE Student Branch of UoVT on the 22nd of April 2023 at the Open University of Sri Lanka Playground, Nawala.

Congratulations to Sri Lanka Section 2022 VoLT Graduates
|
VoLT is targeted to volunteers who have a true desire to learn about the broader IEEE and are considering taking leadership positions within their local units and future IEEE committee roles. Those who have 2+ years of experience volunteering in their local units and have not held a Section Chair position are highly encouraged to participate.
Congratulations to IEEE Sri Lanka Section VoLT Graduates of 2022 on their well-deserved success. Thank you all for your invaluable contributions to advancing technology and fostering innovation.
