An introductory session on IEEE Innovation Nation was organized by the IEEE Student Branch of University of Kelaniya on 7th of June at Hall A7 B01, University of Kelaniya from 11am to 12pm. The session was held focusing the tech enthusiastic undergraduates of the University and was attended by nearly 60 students.
The session was started with an introduction about IEEE, its origin and activities using an interactive presentation and video clips. Later, the team from Student Branch, University of Kelaniya which got qualified into the final round of IEEE Innovation Nation 2018 shared their experiences. They shared about the event, how they presented their idea to the judges and encouraged the audience to participate at this year’s contest.
The Student Branch Chair then addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of participating at one of the world’s recognized platforms to present and showcase innovative ideas. The finalists from the last year’s contest further discussed with the audience on how to apply for the contest and guidelines to follow. The session was appreciated by the participants and their questions were answered at the end.
