IEEE Induction 2019 of University of Colombo School of Computing was held on 05th of April 2019 from 1.00pm onwards at UCSC S104 premises. The event was organized with the intension of encouraging fresh undergraduates who are keen to join IEEE. More than 150 students from 01st year participated in the event.
London Stock Exchange Group and SimCentric Technologies were the main financial sponsors of the event.
The event commenced with an Ice-Breaker which helped the participants to get to know each other followed by two introductory sessions and a team activity. The first of the two introductory sessions was conducted underlining the IEEE History and IEEE at UCSC. The participants were given an introduction on opportunities at the Sri Lanka Section and Student Branch. The second session elaborated on IEEE Xtreme. To conclude, the participants were given a team activity to demonstrate their ideas on “organizing an event “.
The IEEE Induction ’19 was a successful event concluded under the guidance of IEEE Student Branch of UCSC by the Organizing Committee who worked hard together to initiate, motivate and inspire the new membership.
