The biggest annual event of IEEE Sri Lanka section, IEEE Sri Lanka Section Student / Young Professional / Women in Engineering Congress (SYWC), will be held on 5th and 6th December 2015 for the 4th consecutive year at the premises of Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya. This would be a landmark for IEEE Sri Lankan section as the largest SYWC held in its history as this would span for two days, unlike the previous three congresses.
First ever IEEE Sri Lanka Section SYWC was organized by University of Moratuwa and was held in 2012. With the success of this event, Sri lanka Section SYWC was conducted annually ever since. Growing enthusiasm among the young crowd which includes undergraduates and young professionals from all around the country lead the event to be conducted outside Colombo and also it is expanded to be taken place in two days in order to properly cater for the needs of the participants.
SYWC is a grand opportunity for the young blood of IEEE to get exposed to the wisdom of the senior members. Also it would be a platform for them to showcase the achievements of their student branches to the interest crown and discuss on their future endeavours. And it would be a grand opportunity for Women in Engineering to spread the word of their efforts and widen the support from the community. Hence the congress will be a place of networking, entertaining and educating and this would pave the way to a make Sri Lanka section, a prominent section in the region and in IEEE.
